Community challenge is a resource for several days worth of work for children to work through in small groups of 3 to 5 pupils. This is a Mantle of the Expert style series of work.

Community challenge is a wonderfully engaging collection of activities for children aged between 8-12 to work through in small groups over several days.

 

I took inspiration for this series of work from the video game Sim City.  Pupils are tasked with creating a town of their own design and then they must work together using a wealth of cross curriculum skills to organise and run their town.

 

Tasks include; the budget, speech writing, map drawing, and letter writing.  In total there are 17 activities of varying length to be completed.
