For help with APP (Assessing Pupil Progress)

 

Feedback to children about their work should be as instant as possible and should always be targetted at areas they are doing well as well as ways to improve.

 

The Excel spreadsheet below that I have created is a fantastic way of quickly and easily tracking pupils progress making use of the APP.  As it is filled it it will automatically suggest an appropriate sublevel for the child that you are completing it for.  Each skill is simply rated by the user as either a 0, 1 or 2 dependant upon how secure the skill is.  These skills are also colour coded to make it really easy to see at a glance how far the pupils have progressed.  0 marks a child as not being able to show this skill indendently.  1 shows that a child can at times use this skill independently and a 2 shows that this skill is secure.  The levels suggested are based upon how many skills are developing and secure.

 

As you can see from the screen shots filling it in is incredibly straight forward.

 

Pupil's names are listed along the top and down the left hand side are the APP level descriptors for reading, writing and numeracy.  These level descriptors can be hidden from view or opened in level groups to prevent too many being shown at once.

 

The form can be extended to support as many children as you wish.
